INDIA DESPERATELY NEEDING DIVINE INTERVENTION

When the Hindu nationalist BJP came to power in 1998, persecution of Christians soared. Then, in a shock loss, the BJP was voted out of power in May 2004. Rather than be destroyed, the BJP got serious about winning the 2009 elections. Since early 2005 the BJP has been campaigning aggressively across the nation, asserting that all tribal animists (who traditionally vote for non-Hindu parties) are really Hindus who should join the ‘Hindu mainstream’ to defend India from the enemy: Christian missionaries (mostly Indian) accused of threatening both family harmony and national security. Persecution in India is now more intense than ever before. So far this year there have been 190 violent attacks on Christians because of their faith. Meanwhile, the BJP re-election campaign advances unchallenged. Please pray for God’s intervention.
