Belarus, a small country that is situated next to Russia, is our first country to look at. Religious freedom seems to be on the wane. Even though the constitution provides for freedom of religion, the actions of the government have shown otherwise (click here for an example).

Religions: Eastern Orthodox 80%, Other (including Roman Catholic, Protestant, Jewish, and Muslim) 20% (1997 est.)
Total Area: 207,600 sq. km
